According to the US officials, the US state is having close relationships with India on issues related to cyber security and the state wants to expand the relationship with India. US had many meetings with Indian officials on how to exchange information, cooperate in securing networks, fighting against cyber crime and reaching agreement about these norms. US is also expecting to have many such meetings in future too.

The US State Department Co-coordinator for Cyber Issues, International Strategy for Cyberspace, for the first time brought together all the different aspects of policies related to cyberspace, like Internet freedom issues, Internet governance issues, security issues, military issues, cyber crime issues and economic issues, which are all put together in one framework.

The US has also said that it is going to outlay a world vision which is open, interoperable, secure, and reliable. This vision will promote economic growth and innovation, free expression and free flow of information. In order to achieve this goal and to build that future, an environment should be maintained where the states actions are guided by norms of responsible behavior, sustain partnerships, and support the rule of law in cyberspace.

This policy also includes the economy promoting international standards for open and innovative markets and sustaining free trade, protecting intellectual properties, for instance, protecting networks by increasing security, reliability and resiliency.
