Microsoft’s IE 9 Version Released in 11 Indian Languages

Microsoft India has launched new Internet Explorer 9 version in 11 Indian languages including Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjab, Tamil and Telugu. This is not the first attempt from Microsoft, to get closer to Indian audience. Tools designed by Microsoft like Indic language input tool, phonetic keyboard that has language support, and features such as email, instant messenger are also available in local languages.

According to the Internet Experts, IE9 will be helpful only in increasing the Microsoft’s role in the browser market and to drive technology adoption, especially in rural market, but will not lead to the increase of sales of PC.
