Many businesses have realized the growing trend in social media usage and started spending more on social media. Facebook is leading social networking site in the world as well as in India. According to the Social Bakers, there are 13 categories and nearly 135 brands from India which are listed on Facebook. The 13 categories are Alcohol, Auto, Beauty, Communications, Education, Electronics, Fashion, FMCG, Newspaper, Retail, Retail Food, Services, and Telecom.
As of June 2011, out of all brands, Tata Docomo is in the top place having 2.58 million fans. It is followed by Vodafone Zoozoos (2.09 M), Mumbai Indians (1.77 M) and Axe Angels club (1.71 M).
